Illegal Refugees Now Streaming Across Quebec-New York Border
In the U.S refuges come in to our country every day and people are so use to it. People think that America is the most place to take in refuges but in the past month's other places have taking more refugees than the U.s has been. While reading my article, I realized that even though people thought refugees were going to Canada through the U.S border, there going through the Quebec border, that is along New York. It is said to have "cold temperatures that have been reported along the prairies that have sometimes induced frostbite" (David Krayden). The Quebec border is the now the flashpoint for all refuges. Refuges are leaving the U.S because they fear Trump will deport them and they must leave their free life here. People shouldn't have to fear for their lives here in America, we are supposed to be the land of the free. Just in the past months the rates have risen from, "452 in January and a 230 percent for the year", reasoning behind this, Trump Travel Ban law, (David Krayden). Most refugees are avoiding the legal way into Canada, if refuges get into Canada without getting caught they can apply for citizen ship even though they were in the U.S first. People or refuges don't want to leave the U.S but Trump is putting fear into their faces, their lives and the family's wellbeing. From my understanding of this article, Trump is not upholding to what our country believes in, the "land of the free", if this what true than why are people leaving to have a free life? Trump reasoning behind everything is the reason people are leaving the U.S and going over to Canada for a new life, Refuges are leaving because of fear.
I didn't know that refugees are going through the Quebec border that lies along New York, I was one of those who thought that refugees "crossed" Canada through the U.S border. Thanks for sharing that. It's saddening to see that refugees have to undergo sufferments like frostbites due to their fear of getting reported. I agree with you fear doesn't feel anyone welcomed in this country, the so called "Land of the Free". People are running out of run ways.
ReplyDeleteI like how you talked about the issue on why refugees were leaving their country. It is something that should be brought up when talking about topics like these. The evidence you provided showed how drastic the number difference is, showing how the exectutive order made them feel.
