Uncivil Discourse

"You have the right to free speech as long as you're not dumb enough to actually try it."- Know Your Rights by The Clash this quote is very true. People feel like they are able to say anything that comes to their mind but you really have to think about it "is it worth it". The professor here at Fresno State just wanted to get things out of his mind, he probably thought his comments wouldn't have been a big deal but it was and because of his so called freedom of speech he lost his job. In this article it states that they believe the professor and the mass murder who killed 4 males must have been a relationship between both of them due to their intention of why had he decide to kill the four male days after the professor had sent out his comments about the president. People say they are ok with freedom of speech but when it comes to it being racist or offensive they make a big deal about it then why be pro to freedom of speech if you will be offended by it. Social media really likes to mix up their information I have always thought that in videos people usually only record the part where they see injustice but don't record from the beginning what if there was more to it.

         Making America whole again via Civics Education by Chris Bedrik, This article can be relatable to what happening in most schools whether it's in elementary, middle school, high school and even in college. Kids wants to talk about politics but does the teacher really want to what if their freedom of speech get them in trouble with the child parent because he or she spoke up about politics. It is very dangerous but the children do need to know what's happening in the world. "One thing that came out of our research is that students are fascinated by the fact that their peers have different opinions," she said. "It opens them up to the idea that the world is complex, that people don't all think like me, and I still like these people." This quote had an impact in me, because students to want to have that politic talk, but are afraid to open up about their own belief but they need to know that it is ok for people to have their own belief they are still going to care about the other person. They just wont have the same things in common.
