Uncivil Discourse how it is bad
Uncivil Discourse is when a person is when someone speaks about a certain subject to the public. It is not smart to threaten a president on the internet while others can see it. It can be taken in the wrong way and people will think that the person is sending out death threats that can put someone in danger. It is very harmful to send death threats to someone especially if it is to someone of political power. That person can be sent to jail or seen as a terrorist for say something that they shouldn't on the internet. Inequality could also be a big factor for people doing crimes and threatening others because they feel like they are not being treated fairly or not getting enough attention from others. If a person is threatening our nation or the life of another person then they should have to answer to that and should be put in jail or should at least be investigated to make sure that there is no harm being done. If a person is just saying something on their mind then maybe another person can just take it the wrong way but people have to be careful when they post things on the internet. The article that helps support this argument is, "Redeeming our Uncivil Discourse," by Scott Slayton on March 8, 2016. He talks about how political people do a lot of name calling on each other. People do not think before they start speaking. He talks about when he was helping count votes and they told who won lots of people were shouting out for them to recount because they didn't like who won. The people that did do the counting were getting in trouble because the people in charge believed that they cheated on the voting counts. He also talks about how there are consequences for people who lie and do not tell the truth.
