Uncivil Discourse
Uncivil discourse is here to stay and whether we like or not, it is not going to change. People with outrageous remarks, such as the former Fresno State professor about hanging President Trump, are not going to change anytime soon. Along with social media and the ability to express ourselves throughout technology, uncivil discourse will always be present. Now is it harmful? I want to say no and yes. I believe an educated individual will evaluate all of his or her information and data before making such a claim publicly; however, we as the audience need to take their opinions, as just as opinions. We as individuals need to question everything that is be told or given to us. Everyone is entitled to their opinions regardless of how outrageous the statements maybe. What can be done from uncivil discourse is allowing both sides to formally express or voiced their opinions and audience needs to be informed to not stir negative emotions from either sides. With proper facilitation people opinions will be heard but not influence the audience to do something that will jeopardize their safety and the law.
In the article called "Pundits: Political discourse at all-time low" by Shawne K. Wickham talked about political discourse has gotten worse since the Donald Trump became president. He goes on explaining how the media outlets love all the commotion that comes from uncivil discourse from especially our politicians.
